Interactive Filters

Page Column Filters derive the filter value dynamically from the value of any specified Document Library Column associated with the Web Part Page.

Page Request Filters
Page Request Filters derive the filter value from the current Web Part Page HTTP request context, that is, depending on your setup, from the URL query string, the URL path, posted form data, cookies or server-side variables.

SQL Data Filters
SQL Data Filters obtain the filter value from live data inside any ADO.NET-compatible data source (including all major relational databases), either automatically according to your specified query, or interactively by picking from the result set.

BDC Filters obtain the filter value from live data inside any Business Data Catalog (BDC) application, either automatically according to your specified instance, or interactively by picking from the entity choices.
