Issues with PeopleZen when ISA 2006 is used to authenticated. Any other users with this problem and any fixes?

Hi Sean,

I take it our support response from the 29th June either did not arrive in your inbox or didn't help you or your admins?

As a last resort, we will re-enable a non-AJAX mode for scenarios like this. The PeopleZen AJAX requests (when interactively paging forward or back, re-filtering, re-grouping or re-sorting) are seemingly the only, but currently necessary, feature being broken by ISA. Since you apparently couldn't resolve this via administrative changes (unlike our other user who had ISA issues), we will add a non-AJAX mode that refreshes the entire page when performing any of the above steps, but at least this way PeopleZen will once again work for your users.

For anyone having ISA issues with PeopleZen, here's what helped another user:

Two work-arounds / additional configuration settings that you can and probably should give a try:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=940248
(This includes a VBScript to perform configuration changes and another one to roll those back if they didn't help.)

http://forums.isaserver.org/document_library_file_access_prompts_for_logon_credentials/m_2002031680/tm.htm
Lacks detailed instructions as to which options to set and where, but outlines some general ideas that an experienced ISA admin (which none of us here is, to be honest) could probably translate into actionable experimentation.

If none of the above URLs helped, please disable AJAX on the PeopleZen Configuration page once the upcoming hot-fix becomes available within the next 24-48 hours (this post will be refreshed then). FBA is for many scenarios troublesome enough, but via ISA the troubles double --- although at the end of the day I believe it can actually be configured to make the edge cases work, too.

Hi Sean,

the new build 1.5.0.9 pre-announced yesterday in my above post is now available here (and will become available on our download pages in 1-2 days depending on our CDN cache refresh delay, so use that direct download link instead). Clear your IE / browser cache after deployment before testing the new setting:

This most recent PeopleZen build now provides a new configuration option at the bottom of the PeopleZen Configuration page (accessible via any Site Settings page) — Disable AJAX-based handling (in the Caching & Internals section). Tick this check-box option and PeopleZen should hopefully now work fine in your ISA environment. It's not as 'funky' anymore in terms of the user experience but all the functionality and visuals are still fully supported of course.

Hope this helps!
