FilterZen: Feedback Forum > List View Picker

Hi,

I am having some issues when trying to use List View Picker filter. I am having am Employees list with about 1000 records. In "All Items" view it has item limit of 30 by default. I have also created a "Group by" view for the list. When creating this view, i have specified a value of 100 for the "Number of groups to display per page:" field.

So now I have two views. One is the defailt "All Items" view with Item Limit of 30 and another "Group by" view. I have createed a web part page and added the "Employees" list view web part and FilterZen Filter Web Part". Created a connection between these two web parts. Added a "List View Picker" filter, set Filtering mode to CAML and checked "... emulate 'collapsed groups' where applicable' checkbox.

It is all working fine except one problem. When selecting the group by view, it does not display all of the group. (There are total 35 groupings and I set the value of 'Number of groups to display per page' to 100. So i expected to see all of the groupings on the page.) But it displays only first grouping with 30 records underneath. The first grouping has 50 items in total. So when I click on Next button it displays other 20 items of the first grouping and then it displays other groupings until the total employees on the page reaches to 30. So it does not display all of the groups on the page at a time. On the Employee list page, when I select the group by view it does display all of the groupings. But this is not the same on the web part page.

To me, it seems like a bug with the Filterzen Filter web part.

Hi Hitesh,

thanks for the detailed descriptions. I noticed one issue here -- in your Group By view, you said you set the "Number of groups to display per page" option but this can only be set by also selecting "By default, show groupings: Collapsed". This is precisely what FilterZen cannot support due to some SharePoint-internal architectural limitations. This is also the reason we have "emulate collapsed groups" -- we only support expanded groups but if it's visually collapsed groups you want, we provide the "emulate" option which on page load scripts the List View to collapse them after they have been loaded fully.

So can you set , in your View "By default, show groupings" to "Expanded" and see if the problem persists? It shouldn't but if it does, please get back to me here briefly and we'll take care of this immediately.
