Hi Michael! The current version indeed works only on MOSS. However, WSS support is definitely on the roadmap so stay tuned!

Software112.com offers a PeopleZen download implying PeopleZen 1.4 is compatible with WSS (http://www.software112.com/products/wss-employee-viewer-webpart+download.html). If WSS is not yet supported, the Software112 and/or included documentation should probably state such.

you're absolutely right --- in an ideal world, it should be as you describe! We'll drop them a note some time but for now we're too busy implementing and finalizing WSS support. It is about just around the corner now...

PeopleZen 1.7 was just released and in addition to MOSS 2007 and SPS 2010 now finally supports WSS 3.0 as well as SharePoint Foundation 2010!

The directions by Mr. Luca seem to point to MOSS. How do you set this thing up in WSS 3.0? I installed it but when I try to use the webpart I get this error.
