FilterZen: Feedback Forum > Use comma as delimiter

Hello,

I would like to use a comma (or whatever key) as delimiter in my ListLookup filter.
I have a document library containing a keywords column in which users add keywords in a single line of text using a comma as delimiter.
In my current filter the whole string of the column is shown as filter option, I would like to have the separate keywords as option. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Kind regards,
Jos

Hi Jos,

we just built in a little "cheat / hack" to make this possible for you easily.

First you need to download the newest build 3.7.0.21 — NOT from our download pages but directly from here: http://roxority.s3.amazonaws.com/roxority_FilterZen.zip.

Secondly, in the List Lookup filter you need to use a special syntax for the value Column setting, as illustrated on this screenshot: append to the field name two colons :: and then the delimiter of your choice, ie. in our screenshot example (which resembles your use-case!) we used the comma, so instead of just the column name Keywords we used Keywords::, to enable the desired behaviour.

Thirdly, you'll need to enable CAML Direct Filtering mode for the FilterZen Web Part and change the List Lookup filter's operator from the default Equals to Contains (to do so expand the filter's Advanced Filter Properties section and scroll down).
