FilterZen: Feedback Forum > Disable sharepoint Filters Listview
Hi Mario,
welcome back!
As far as I can recall FilterZen should be doing this automatically for all filters that it sends to a List View Web Part itself. So 2 questions:
1) is it not doing that in your scenario? (This would be a bug.)
2) or if it is, do you see a need for disabling all other SP-built-in filter drop-downs as well? (This would be a future feature addition.)

Hello,
1. I do not experience this. Should the filter dropdown not be there anymore? In my case it still is and shows all values. Also the ones I don't want to show.
2. Disabling all SP built in filters would be a nice addon feature
Kind Regards,
Mario

1. OK, we'll look look into this for the next update.
2. So we'll put it in the "nice-to-have" list of future features. Or, just curious, would you consider this a must-have?

Hello,
In our scenario we don't want to show results that must be filtered out. With the SP filter feature it is still possible to see unwanted results.
Is this a must? I would say yes.
Kind regards,

Thanks for clarifying, this just moved your request way up in the to-do queue :) sometimes it helps a lot when we understand why things are needed.
I expect about a week for this update.

Hi Mario,
I think I'll need your "scenario" as a site STP or something. The issue is this: FilterZen, when connected to a List View Web Part (not Data View), absolute does disable built-in filter drop-downs — but only those filters that are being sent via FilterZen. Other filters are still drop-down-available, however, they do NOT override FilterZen's pre-filtering --- if you select a value there that FilterZen filters out, then simply no results will be seen. Can you confirm that at least this behaviour is happening at your end?

OK wait, now we figured out our scripts only seem to work properly in "summary view". Oh SharePoint... OK, so we're working on that!

Hi Mario,
the newest build is now available for download. FilterZen now offers two ways of disabling the built-in filtering menus:
- when connected to a List View that is not a Document Library, FilterZen will always disable the built-in filtering menus only for those Columns that are being filtered by FilterZen. This behavior was built in to previous versions and has not changed.
- additionally, when connected to a List View (Doc Lib or normal List) with CAML Filtering mode enabled, you can now choose to "remove ALL built-in filtering menus" in the Advanced Filtering Settings section of the FilterZen Web Part settings tool-pane.
Hope this helps!

Hello,
Do you know a way to disable the standard sharepoint filters in the header column titles?
Kind regards,
Mario
