FilterZen: Feedback Forum > Users Filter

Hello,
I have a problem with the User Filters feature.
When I want to try the "Walkthrough: using FilterZen" help topic, I haven't the same interface.
I can't found the option "pick the default value...", also i can't make the default value at the current user.
I just install this web part, so I think have the last version.

Can you help me?

Hi Ludovic,

we'll shortly update the documentation screen shots. We expand our software so fast that the docs have trouble keeping up!

That said, when I add a new User Filter I am initially presented with this user interface: it clearly shows the "pick the default filter value", which already defaults to the current user, at the top of the User Filter Properties section.

How is yours different from that screen shot? This is from the newest version.

Hi,
I sorry, I'm not wake up... I find it, no problem thanks you, but I can't be find the "current user" option. My default value is "Empty".
I have take a screen shot, you can see it here.

What is my problem ? I have missing a configuration or a link between webparts ?

Hi Ludovic,

two issues here.

First, there was a bug with the User Filter which has just been fixed and re-uploaded. The current user did in fact not work properly.

However, while you certainly should apply this update, you are having a different issue here. Are you in a root web site or in a sub-site? Is this WSS or MOSS? What do you see when you go to http://your_root_site_url/_catalogs/users? Do you have access to that? Technically, the User Filter is just a List Lookup Filter that is bound to the User Information List of the current Site Collection's root web site. Specifically, just when you are in the Web Part Edit mode, are there any warning, error or other messages displayed in the FilterZen Web Part?

Yes I'm in a root web site and in a sub-site? I use WSS, but I cant find the _catalogs/users and yes I have a warning. ("L'application Web est introuvable à l'adresse http://ms-sps01/_catalogs/users/detail.aspx...")
I thinks my problem is here. I investigate to know why I havent a view on this part of my web site.

Thanks you for this way.
I try to test again and I inform you to the issue.

dear,

Off-topic but you may be pleased to learn that we're currently working on a French-language release of the software (a native speaker in our team now!), this will be released within a week or two.

So anyway, if you find out what's going wrong I'd be curious to learn about it!
